Course description

DCE English Language School offers a variety of courses for adults. Our wide range of General English courses caters for English Language students of all levels. Quality English Language teaching, combined with small classes, guarantees results.

Students can enrol on long-term or short-term courses in General English at DCE English Language School, studying 15 hours per week, with an option to increase the hours for short-term intensive courses. Students can begin their course on any Monday of their choice. Course duration is between 1 week and 3 months for short-term, and between 25 to 52 weeks for long-term (non-visa-requiring students only - students who require a visa to study must take a 25-week course).

The standard General English course covers all aspects of the language: grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Great importance is placed on oral communication, and materials are both relevant and stimulating. Students are tested regularly to ensure they are in the
correct class for their level

Dublin Centre of Education is an educational institution First and foremost, the DCE English Language School has an optimal location right in the city centre, which allows students access to the shopping centres, the food stores, the Luas, the buses, and more one stone’s throw away. This is vastly important because when students stay short-term, not only are they here to improve their English, but also to visit a new country. Therefore, location is always a priority when choosing a place to study. The 25-week program is a General English course that’s spread out over various levels, from Beginner to Advanced. These classes compose of 15 classes compulsory every week, We have extremely well-qualified teachers, with at lot of experience. They have all been certified with the CELTA certification and equivalent. Their conduct is extremely professional and organised, which gives the students the learning tools they need to progress. Our student base is widely multicultural. The majority of our students are from Europe, including Spain, France, Italy, and more, but we also have nationalities from all over the world, including Brazil, Mexico and more. All students are over 18 years of age. Students who are offered a place must go through a mandatory entrance exam. This involves a small written piece about themselves, a multiple choice questionnaire and a 5-minute conversation. After this, the students will be placed in the class that’s appropriate to their level of English. For long-term students, an end of course exam is required in order to get their certificate. The school offers weekly outdoor activities. These activities include tourist sight-seeing where students can visit Dublin’s main attractions. For example, seeing the museums, Dublin castle, Kilmainham Gaol prison, Killiney beach, even some movies, and of course, the pubs.

- Services must be paid in full 14 days before the course starts in order to complete the enrolment and secure a place in the course and/or accommodation.
- Bookings are not transferable.

Cancellation Policy

- The cancelation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person that booked the course.
- No course changes will be allowed to make up for refunds in the case of course cancellations.
- Where a cancellation is received 14 days after enrolment there will be no refund whatsoever.

- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge 25% or €500 whichever greater Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.

• 1-14 days prior to start date: 100% of the course fee will be charged
• 15-30 days prior to start date: 45% of the course fee will be charged
• More than 30 days prior to start date: Fees will be refunded minus administrative charge of 25%.
